First Eight Out: Clemson, Texas Tech, Houston, Pittsburgh, California, Mississippi, TCU, Auburn

The American Athletic Conference is not getting much national attention this season, but Cincinnati is not the only program having a good year. SMU is sitting at 17-4 and is basically a lock to make the NCAA Tournament barring a major surprise. The AAC could very well get a third, or maybe even fourth, team into the NCAA Tournament as well. As conferences like the ACC beat up on each other and knock their likely number of NCAA Tournament participants down to more reasonable numbers, Memphis, Houston and UCF are moving closer to the NCAA Tournament. This week Memphis moves onto the right side of the bubble following wins over fellow bubble teams UCF and Houston.
