The bubble got even more crowded after last weekend, as a couple teams on the outside looking in heading into the weekend picked up huge series wins. Boston College was the big winner over the weekend. Having been swept by Notre Dame the weekend before, the Eagles picked up a much-needed series win over Louisville. The Eagles turned quality starts from Jack Stevens in the series opener and big-time draft prospect Jack Dunn in Saturday’s contest into a pair of wins to take the series and now find themselves in good position to make a regional. The wins bumped Boston College up to 52 in the RPI, and with a very winnable series against Virginia Tech coming up, the Eagles have an opportunity to climb in the ACC standings.

Tennessee was the other big winner over the weekend. The Volunteers found themselves in a similar situation to Boston College, coming off a series loss to Auburn the week before. Tennessee rebounded well though, taking the final two games of their series with Vanderbilt to secure a series win. Vanderbilt, like Louisville, should be a regional host come tournament time, making the series win that much bigger for the Volunteers. With last place Missouri up next, back-to-back series wins would be a huge boost for the Volunteers resume, as they close the regular season with series against Florida, LSU, and a Georgia team that has been playing well over the ast few weeks.
