3/28 Softball Bracketology Breakdown

Last Four In: Texas-Arlington, Kansas, San Diego State, Texas State

First Four Out: South Carolina, California, Long Beach State, Purdue

Georgia got itself back on track as they systematically swept Texas A&M this weekend in Athens to insert themselves back into the SEC title race. Florida went into Baton Rouge and swept LSU as the Gators were outstanding in the circle. Nicole DeWitt’s three-run homerun in the top of the ninth inning clinched the series for Florida in game two of Friday’s doubleheader. Oregon opened up Jane Sanders Stadium in style with a convincing sweep of Stanford to take control of the Pac-12 conference race. Arizona stepped up with pitching to fend off a tough Utah team by taking two of three from the Utes. Baylor got themselves ready for a showdown with Louisiana-Lafayette by battling back against Texas on Saturday night. Trailing 5-3 late, Baylor took advantage of a passed ball and error in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat the Longhorns 6-5. If the Bears can stay patient at the plate against the Ragin’ Cajuns, then they will have a great shot to win the series.
