First Eight Out: Kansas State, Duke, Temple, Princeton, Saint Mary’s, Minnesota, Villanova, Rutgers
It is all down the one-bid conferences now. We do not project any of the conference tournaments still going to have more than one team going to the NCAA Tournament. Of course, that is assuming the top team wins. Teams like Green Bay, Colorado State, James Madison and UTEP would be in the at-large mix should they lose. Colorado State is in the finals on Friday against Fresno State and it is hard to imagine the Rams missing the NCAA Tournament even if they lose and drop to 30-2 on the year. The road for UTEP is tougher. They play Old Dominion in the semifinals on Friday and then face a tough Marshall squad that is coming off of a nice win over Western Kentucky in the quarterfinals or 22-8 Middle Tennessee. Marshall is also one of just two conference teams to beat UTEP this year.
