2/22 Softball Bracketology Breakdown

James Madison Softball Action

Last Four In: Ohio State, UCF, Pittsburgh, Kansas

First Four Out: Texas Tech, Oregon State, Florida Gulf Coast, South Florida

James Madison was one of the biggest stories of the weekend as they beat Tennessee and Auburn this weekend at the Michele Smith Pediatric Cancer Invitational. Jaclyn Ford was lights out in the circle against both powerhouses from the Southeastern Conference. Louisiana was the other big story after they took two out of three against the Oregon Ducks. The Ragin’ Cajuns did a great job of slowing down the very explosive Oregon offense. Their patience at the plate paid off against the Ducks. The other theme of the weekend was parity reigning supreme as the Mary Nutter Classic was fiercely competitive with several dramatic finishes. It is going be critical for teams to execute offensively, especially with runners in scoring position, since there are going to plenty of hotly contested one run games all season long.
