It was almost a disastrous week for Tennessee. Back on December 11th they did not look impressive when they hit the road for the first time all season and snuck past Wichita State 58-51. Then this week they hit the west coast to play Stanford and Oregon State. They lost to Stanford 69-55, but managed to beat Oregon State 53-50 in a hard-fought, scrappy contest. Those are the types of games that often happen in the SEC and the Lady Vols proved that they could win those types of games. Still, this is not a great Tennessee team…at this point. Coach Holly Warlick has some time off to help get things sorted out. The Lady Vols do not play against until December 30th when they host Stetson. The next game is the opening of conference play on January 4th. But a trip to Missouri, followed by home contests against Florida and Auburn should give Tennessee momentum heading into the tougher stretches of SEC play.
