 Miami Team Page

Overview:

Shenise came in as a freshman in 2008-09 and absolutely dominated as she was the only player in Division 1 to lead her team in scoring, assists, rebounds and steals enroute to making the ACC All-Freshman team and Honorable Mention. Her sophomore season in 2009-10, Johnson continued her ironman ways starting every game giving coach Katie Meier a great sense of stability on the court for Miami. Shense scored in double figures in every game and was also named to the ALL-ACC defensive team. Also, Johnson helped the Hurricanes make it all the way to the 2010 WNIT Championship against Cal.

In 2011, Johnson carried the Hurricanes to unchartered waters as Miami won the regular season title and earned a number three seed in the NCAA tournament before falling to Oklahoma in the second round. Shenise scored 19.6 points per game was very accurate from the floor shooting 48.8 percent. Johnson, also earned the ACC Player of the Year award, and was a first-team All-America.

Final Projection:

Shenise was just named to the 2011 World University Games squad for Team USA, which should give her invaluable experience to bring back to the reigning ACC regular season champions. Also, her ability to defend and being a consistent presence on the floor by playing in all 99 games of her career should help her propel Miami back to the NCAA Tournament. Finally, her versatility should be very appealing for WNBA tea
