Week 3 FCS Football Bracketology Breakdown

George Hammond

Last Four In: Stony Brook, Portland State, Samford, McNeese State

First Four Out: Indiana State, Southeastern Louisiana, New Hampshire, Northern Arizona

Is the nation’s longest playoff streak (11 straight FCS appearances) in jeopardy? Only time will tell as Stony Brook stunned New Hampshire, 31-6, on Saturday to put the Wildcats at 1-2. Usually prolific on offense, New Hampshire isn’t scoring many points. In three games, it has totaled just 45 points. Maybe the skill position losses from last year hurt more than anticipated, but it appears the Wildcats could be fighting for their playoff lives this season. Granted, they don’t meet James Madison or Villanova this year, but they still have difficult games at William & Mary, at Delaware and a home game against Richmond.
