Alabama College Softball

Last Four In: Nebraska, Hawaii, California, Tulsa

First Four Out: Creighton, Maryland, Louisiana Tech, Ole Miss

With two top ten teams playing at a high level, the series of the weekend was Alabama and Auburn. Alabama got the job done right off the bat as Alexis Osorio shutout the powerful Tigers offense 6-0 to win game one. The offense for the Crimson Tide then dominated game two. Alabama won going away 13-3. Now, what is going to stick in the back of Alabama's mind moving forward is letting game three slip away. Auburn rallied from 10-5 down to win 13-12 to stay ahead of the Crimson Tide in the SEC standings. Florida continued its hot streak led by Lauren Haeger's record setting homerun in game one against Georgia. Haeger's grand slam secured the all-time homerun records at Florida and in the SEC as the Gators swept the Bulldogs to keep pace with LSU. Oklahoma also stepped up big after getting punched in the mouth by Baylor 8-0 in a game one loss to win the key Big 12 series two games to one. Finally, keep an eye on Notre Dame. They have won 23 straight games including 16 straight in ACC play and look primed to make a run at the Top 16 seeds for the NCAA Tournament. Also, don't sleep on UCLA. The Bruins are quietly getting on a roll, and if they can stay consistent they can definitely make a run at a top eight seed in the NCAA Tournament.
