Michigan College Softball

Last Four In: Nebraska, Hawaii, Mississippi, South Florida

First Four Out: Creighton, Maryland, Purdue, Utah

Oregon had their back against the wall after Cheridan Hawkins was roughed up in a game one loss to UCLA. But the Ducks were very resilient in coming back to win two straight over the Bruins to take the series in dominating fashion. In the Big Ten things are getting very interesting. Northwestern sits in first place at 8-0 in conference play after recovering from a very slow start. Michigan made another statement on the road in conference by taking two of three at Minnesota. Rutgers and Nebraska are also making their presence felt in the Big Ten and have played their way into the NCAA Tournament conversation. Auburn has asserted themselves atop the Southeastern Conference as they had an epic rally from a six-run deficit in the first inning on Saturday against Tennessee to win 12-9. Alabama picked up another road series over Kentucky as they battled their way back from losing the first game to get the series win. Florida State reasserted themselves as the frontrunner in the ACC after beating NC State two out of three times in Raleigh and they have their shot against Florida on Wednesday in Tallahassee. Finally, with James Madison sitting on a 20 game winning streak, they are fast becoming a big threat to crack into the top 16 seeds in May when the NCAA Tournament field is announced.
