3/2 Softball Bracketology Breakdown

Alabama College Softball

Last Four In:  Utah, Iowa State, Stanford, Cal Poly

First Four Out: North Carolina, Long Beach State, Maryland, Purdue

Florida rose to the occasion last Friday out in San Diego as Delanie Gurley outlasted Cheridan Hawkins of Oregon in a 3-0 win for the Gators to stay locked in as the top team in college softball. Michigan kept rolling as they were dominant offensively down in Tempe, knocking off the Sun Devils. The series of the weekend took place in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where the Alabama Crimson Tide took two of three from a very tough Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns team that came ever so close to winning the series themselves. Sydney Littlejohn stepped up big all weekend long in the circle for the Crimson Tide as she tries to take the role of Jaclyn Traina from last year and become the ace of the staff. Minnesota had the roughest week of the Top 25 teams as they lost three times and struggled quite a bit in the circle. Also, don’t sleep on LSU. They have sprinted out to a 21-0 start this season and they are getting great pitching to complement their lethal offensive attack. This Tigers team has a great shot to be undefeated before next week’s Southeastern Conference showdown series against top ranked Florida down in Gainesville.
