2/16 Softball Bracketology Breakdown

Michigan College Softball

Last Four In: Virginia Tech, Cal State Fullerton, Iowa State, South Carolina

First Four Out: North Carolina, Long Beach State, Boston College, Utah

The Michigan Wolverines made the biggest statement of the second weekend of the 2015 college softball season by going down to Florida State and getting a 6-5 win and a 2-1 victory over Florida State. Florida survived getting tested a bit from North Carolina State and helped head coach Tim Walton get his 500th career win as head coach of the Gators. Arizona State got back on the right path with an 8-4 win over Oklahoma thanks to a walk-off grand slam by Bethany Kamp, handing the Sooners their first loss of the 2015 season. LSU has continued their excellent work in the circle to start the season as they shut down Notre Dame twice in two victories. UCF continues to dominate with its pitching as well. Shelby Turnier shut down very tough Missouri and Minnesota teams to get two big signature wins for the Knights as they push towards one of the 16 national seeds. A couple other quiet stories that are developing is the fast start of Ohio State at 7-1, Kansas at 10-0 and Iowa State at 6-2. It will be very interesting to see how the Buckeyes, Jayhawks and Cyclones develop the rest of the way.
