1/11 Women's Basketball Bracketology Breakdown

North Carolina Women's College Basketball

Last Eight In: St. John’s, Tulane, George Washington, Washington State, Northwestern, Oklahoma, South Florida, Miami

First Eight Out: Ohio State, Gonzaga, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh, Fresno State, Virginia, Middle Tennessee

It was a surprising week in the ACC. On Thursday night both North Carolina and Notre Dame were upset on the road. The Tar Heels were demolished 84-59 by Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, the Irish fell 78-63 to Miami. Road games may be tough, but the way those two lost was a shock. On Sunday, Duke joined the fray and lost at Florida State. The Seminoles were already in our projected field of 64, but with that win they are serious contenders for an ACC title and a much, much higher seed. Miami makes an appearance in the bracket this week after also picking up a road win against Virginia Tech. Meanwhile, Pitt is one of the first eight teams out of the projected bracket. They have looked great so far in ACC play, but trips to Florida State and Georgia Tech this week could prove troublesome.
