The parity of women’s college basketball came to light on Wednesday night when Notre Dame took on DePaul. The Blue Demons are often underappreciated on the national level, but they very well could have beaten Notre Dame. DePaul was up six points late in regulation, but missed free-throws ended up costing them the game. It was Notre Dame’s Jewell Loyd scoring her 40th and 41st points of the night from the charity stripe in overtime that won the game for the Irish. DePaul is good, but maybe they are even better than we thought. Or maybe Notre Dame is not one of the elite teams in the country. Or maybe the line between the two is not as clear cut as it has been over the last few years.
