Week 15 Football Bowl Projection Breakdown

Amazingly, just about everything we thought would happen did happen. That is rare for a Championship Saturday. In the end, there are six worthy teams of making the four playoff spots. It’s hard to predict what 12 people will do, but it looks likely that Alabama, Oregon, Florida State and TCU will be in the playoffs. Sorry Ohio State and Baylor. Oklahoma State becoming bowl eligible was the one surprise and they dashed the hopes of many teams. The Cowboys upset Oklahoma and are likely headed to the Cactus Bowl. That leaves Middle Tennessee, UAB, Ohio, Texas State and Temple on the outside looking in. Army’s spot in the Armed Forces Bowl, with a Big 12 backup that they cannot fill, is the only wide open spot. In our final scenario, we have Illinois headed to Fort Worth, Texas. The Illini or Rutgers will likely be the leftover team in the Big Ten and have to be considered the favorites to pick up that last spot, although picking a closer, small conference team would make sense too.
