The Big Ten had an awful week and it seems very unlikely that a one loss team from the conference will make the playoffs. Losses by Michigan State, Michigan and Ohio State were the marquee games, but Purdue also fell to Central Michigan and Northwestern lost to Northern Illinois. But it is worth looking deeper than just the wins and losses. Nebraska had a lot of trouble with McNeese State, Iowa barely beat Ball State, Illinois just slipped past Western Kentucky and Maryland struggled against South Florida. Overall, the Big Ten looked bad on Saturday and there will be some more bad losses for the conference before non-conference play is over.
