Samantha Prahalis, Senior, Guard, Ohio State

 Ohio State Team Page

Overview:

Samantha Prahalis came to Columbus on a mission to make an immediate impact and she did just that starting all 35 games and earning Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors, leading all Big Ten Freshmen in scoring (10.2 , assists (5.8) , and steals 1.9).

In her sophomore season in 2009-10, Prahalis became just the second player since 1999-2000 to score 16.0 points per game and averaged eight assists per game. In the post-season, Prahalis was named CO-MVP of the Women’s WNIT.

In 2010-11, Samantha set the all-time assist record at Ohio State with 707. She was also third in the NCAA with 6.9 assists per game. Scoring wise, Samantha was second on the team at 14.5 points per game.  Prahalis was also a Lieberman Award Finalist.

Final Projection:

Samantha should be the first point guard off the board come draft day. Her ability to distribute the basketball is among the elite in women’s college basketball. With Jantel Lavender graduating, look for Prahalis to carry the heavy load for the Buckeyes in 2011-12 in their quest for a Final Four berth and she should be the odds on favorite for the Nancy Lieberman Award given to the Nation’s Top Point Guard
