Last Eight In: Old Dominion, Nebraska, NC State, Tennessee, Dallas Baptist, West Virginia, Kansas, Georgia Tech

First Eight Out: Arkansas, Duke, San Diego State, Maryland, USC, Cal State Fullerton, UAB, Florida International

UC Irvine has shown that they’re for real. Playing a schedule that featured the top four Big West opponents in the final four weekends, the Anteaters racked up a lot of wins against some lesser opponents. That changed last weekend, as the Anteaters swept a UC Santa Barbara team that spent a large portion of the season in the Top 25, improving to 32-14 and 14-1 in Big West play. The Anteaters have a 1.5 game lead over Cal Poly, who they play next weekend, and sit in great position to win the Big West. At the least, they have an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament securely in hand.
