Last Eight In: Boise State, Mississippi State, Providence, Mississippi, Minnesota, Saint Mary’s, Florida State, Xavier
First Eight Out: Baylor, LSU, SMU, Stanford, Louisiana Tech, Tennessee, Utah, Illinois
There were some losses and very close calls among the top teams in the nation. Syracuse was tested by Miami, Michigan State fell to Michigan, Villanova lost to a hot Creighton squad and nearly fell at Marquette as well. Even San Diego State was taken to overtime by Utah State. But despite all of that, when projecting forward, the College Sports Madness bracket has not changed all that much on top. We still think Michigan State, when healthy, is the team to beat in the Big Ten and will end up with a #1 seed. Villanova will not have many more outings where the opposition knocks down 20 three-pointers and should still win the Big East. And, of course, Arizona, Florida and Syracuse remain favorites to win their conferences.
