First Eight Out: Virginia, Indiana, George Washington, Texas, Utah State, Butler, Marquette, Maryland
The Big East is turning into a very interesting conference. Villanova is certainly the team to beat, but there are NCAA Tournament slots likely available for at least a couple of other teams. And everybody has played well enough so far that if they can make a run towards a regular season conference title, the NCAA will call. Marquette, at 7-5, currently has the worst record of every Big East team, but they have also played a very tough schedule. Georgetown is always going to be a threat and squads like Providence, Butler, Creighton and Xavier are off to solid starts.
