Week 9 FCS Football Bracketology Breakdown

Delaware FCS Football
George Hammond

Last Four In: Southern Illinois, Tennessee State, Samford, Villanova

First Four Out: Chattanooga, South Carolina State, Tennessee-Martin, Central Arkansas

The Delaware Blue Hens (6-2) make the top 25 for the first time, but that doesn’t mean the Blue Hens will make the playoffs. Although the Hens have played eight games, one could say their season really begins Saturday night at Towson. Besides the Tigers, Delaware must face William & Mary, Richmond and Villanova. If the Hens lose to Towson, then knock off the Tribe and Spiders (home games), that season finale against rival Villanova could be for a playoff berth. Meanwhile, in the MVFC, the playoff picture is far from sorted out. Youngstown State (4-0, 7-1) has had a banner year, but the schedule gets tougher for the Penguins. In addition to Youngstown, as many as six other teams appear to be in the playoff picture.
