Last Four In: UC Irvine, Penn State, St. John’s, William & Mary
First Four Out: Marquette, Cal Poly, Old Dominion, Temple
With California’s thrilling 3-2 overtime win over UCLA, there is finally a team that appears to want to hold on to the top spot in the bracket. However, in the tough Pac-12, there will be ample opportunity for the Golden Bears to falter. Cal still has to play UCLA in Berkeley, travel to Washington, who they tied at home in early October and face off twice against a pesky Stanford team that many are overlooking. At 9-0-2, Cal could lose one or two of those games and still be the best team in the nation, but then the Bears would have competition from whoever, if anybody, can separate themselves in the ACC.
