Last Four In: Northeastern, Cal Poly, Furman, Syracuse
First Four Out: Old Dominion, Providence, SMU, Rutgers
Just when it looked like Maryland was getting back on track with a win over Duke, two days later they got back in the loss column against VCU. Of course, there is a long way to go and the Terps offense is not slowing down. Once the defense catches up, Maryland will compete for an ACC title. And that starts right now. Maryland’s conference opener is on Friday at North Carolina. The Tar Heels have looked better early in the year with a nice 4-0 victor over Coastal Carolina and a decent draw at Notre Dame. The ACC is going to be brutal, but the winner of the UNC / Maryland contest is going to be the early favorite.
