Cyrus Kouandjio NFL Draft Profile

Cyrus Kouandjio, Junior, Offensive Tackle, Alabama

Overview:

At 6'6" and 310 pounds, Alabama offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio has the measurements to excel on the offensive line. He started every game as a sophomore for the Crimson Tide, performing admirably. Now, entering his junior year, Kouandjio sees himself as the best lineman on the Tide and one of the best left tackles in all of college football. He is on everyone's preseason All-SEC first team as well as some All-American squads. A knee injury hampered Cyrus during part-time play as a freshman; he seemed to overcome that rather effortlessly to have so much success the following season. Another step forward this year is what coaches and fans are expecting.

Final Projection:

There are always slight differences between elite left tackle prospects. Some have better footwork; some are stronger; some have great hands and smarts. Of course a lot can change throughout the course of the season but coming into 2013, three men have distanced themselves from everyone else: Taylor Lewan, Jake Matthews, and Kouandjio. Whichever gets selected first will come down to team success, how they perform in their biggest games, and also combine workouts and performances after the season has wrapped up. Either way, all three will be selected within the beginning of the first round if they all decide to declare.
