Allen Crabbe NBA Draft Profile

Allen Crabbe NBA Draft Profile

Allen Crabbe, Junior, Shooting Guard, California

Overview:

During the 2010-2011 campaign, Allen Crabbe stepped right into the California backcourt and made a huge impact. The freshman averaged 13.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists. The expectations quickly grew for the 6-6 shooting guard after that very impressive debut campaign. And Crabbe was ready to keep the good times rolling. As a sophomore he turned into the Golden Bears leading scorer, averaging 15.2 points per game.

Perhaps the most impressive thing about Crabbe as an underclassman was his outside shooting. He hit about 40 percent of his attempts from beyond the three-point arc each of his first two seasons with California. That number dipped to 34.8 percent during the 2012-2013 campaign. However, Crabbe was again the team’s top scorer and was the focus of most defensive game plans.

Final Projection:

Crabbe is much, much more than just a shooter. He has the size to attack the basket with ease and he has been very effective and efficient scoring around the basket. With his size and shooting ability, Crabbe could be an explosive scorer in the NBA. Without consistent double teams and game plans drawn up to stop him, Crabbe should be able to put up some points in a hurry. Right now Crabbe is considered a late first round to early second round selection, but do not be surprised if he impresses during team workouts and finds a spot in the top 25.
