Overview:
Braud, an Alabama fixture in left field, drives the Tide’s offense. A career .427 hitter, she has speed to burn and defensively is above average. Braud was an All-SEC Second Team selection and NFCA All Region First Teamer in 2012, and is a two-time Capital One Academic All-American. She hit .345 with 41 stolen bases last year.
Final Projection:
Braud is an exciting player and every NPF team will take a look. Trends are important, however, and teams will see a steady decline in her numbers. Down in nearly every category from 2011 to last year, Braud dropped in average (.436 2011/.345 2012), stolen bases (58/41), runs (71/60), and on base percentage (.517/.446) among several others. Her strikeouts jumped from 26 in 2011 to 38 last year. Braud can definitely play, but a solid 2013 wouldn’t hurt.
