3/6 Softball Bracketology Breakdown

Last Four In: South Carolina, Michigan State, Notre Dame, South Florida

First Four Out: Missouri, Hofstra, Illinois, Tulsa

It was a relatively quiet week for the top teams in the country as Florida, Auburn, Florida State, and Oregon cemented themselves as the top four teams in the nation for the time being. Baylor had arguably the best overall week in college softball as they did an outstanding job in the circle, beating Arizona State, Washington, and Michigan and holding those teams to just three runs in three games. Then, the Bears caught fire offensively as they outslugged UCLA on Sunday by a score of 11-6. Oklahoma went on the road in the middle of the week against a very good Wichita State team and knocked off the Shockers 7-3, led by Paige Parker and her 11 strikeouts. North Carolina got off to a great start in ACC play as they swept the Pittsburgh Panthers, including a dramatic 8-7 win on Sunday afternoon. Minnesota and Arizona are going to be two more teams to watch as both are pitching very well and, if that continues, they are going to be very difficult to deal in the Big Ten and Pac-12, respectively.
