The Pac-12 provided some thrilling games this week, although a couple came at the expense of Arizona. The Wildcats lost at UCLA on a last second three-pointer by Bryce Alford. Two days later across town, Arizona lost in four overtimes to USC. That will probably be the toughest road trip the Wildcats have to take this season, but top to bottom to the Pac-12 is absolutely loaded and their resumes and RPIs reflect that. Right now we project seven Pac-12 teams to make the tournament, but all 12 teams still have a legitimate shot. Washington State could be the lone exception after falling at home to UW in overtime on Saturday. Like Arizona, Arizona State lost to both Los Angeles schools this week and are the lone winless team in the conference. On the other end of the spectrum, Washington is the only team unbeaten…but we still don’t have the Huskies in the tournament. The Huskies still have a lot to prove despite recent wins over UCLA and USC. Those losses to Oakland and UCSB earlier are still haunting them for now, but like everybody else in the conference, UW will have plenty of opportunities to pick up big wins between now and March.
