It was a quiet week in women’s basketball. On Monday though, Arizona State knocked off Florida State in a battle between top 25 teams. The other big winner was fellow Pac-12 member Cal, who knocked off UCLA in double overtime to start off what will be an exciting season in the Pac-12. The loser of the week was DePaul, who fell to Loyola (IL) 88-75. The Blue Demons were down 11 at the half and never were able to mount and hold a serious comeback. The schedule has been brutal, but DePaul is now 8-5 and there are some solid teams in the Big East. The margin for error for DePaul is getting pretty slim. They are still a very, very talented team, but they cannot afford to look past anybody in the Big East.
