11/15 Women's Basketball Bracketology Breakdown

Last Eight In: North Carolina, Penn State, Missouri, USC, Arkansas, LSU, West Virginia, Nebraska

First Eight Out: Oregon, Purdue, Miami, St. John’s, Iowa State, Seton Hall, Virginia, Middle Tennessee

We learned a couple things during the opening weekend. For one, Ohio State is really good, but South Carolina is better. A’ja Wilson scored 20 points and added 14 rebounds in a thrilling 88-80 win for the Gamecocks. Those two could meet again in the Final Four. The other thing we learned is that North Carolina is as bad as we thought. They lost their opener on Friday at home to Gardner-Webb 66-65 and followed it up with an overtime loss to Oregon. For now, we’ll keep North Carolina in the bracket since it is an inexperienced team that will only get better, but the Tar Heels cannot afford too many more slipups since even at their best UNC is likely a team that will hover around .500 in ACC play.
