2/22 Women's Basketball Bracketology Breakdown

North Carolina State Women's College Basketball

Last Eight In: Georgia, Middle Tennessee, DePaul, Northwestern, Arkansas, Iowa State, Tulane, Miami (FL)

First Eight Out: Washington State, LSU, St. John’s, Arkansas-Little Rock, Duquesne, West Virginia, Fresno State, North Carolina State

For quite some time it has seemed like the ACC was going to get eight teams into the NCAA Tournament. Notre Dame, Duke, Louisville, Florida State, North Carolina and Syracuse are locks. Pittsburgh and Miami likely need to win the games they should win, which for Pitt is at home against Clemson and Miami on the road at Wake Forest. But now a ninth team is trying to crawl its way into consideration. North Carolina State upset Duke on Sunday and are 7-7 in conference play and 16-11 overall. The good news is the Wolfpack have two more opportunities to pick up eye catching wins this week against Florida State and Notre Dame. The bad news is they have to play Florida State and Notre Dame. They need to win at least one of those games, win a game in the ACC Tournament and hope for the best on the bubble, but now at least North Carolina State has a chance.
