For all practical purposes, the Big Ten title race could be decided this week. Maryland, in their debut campaign in the conference, are 12-0 following their home win over Nebraska. The Terrapins host fellow Big Ten newcomer Rutgers on Tuesday night and that is likely the Scarlet Knights last chance to get back into the title race. Rutgers is three games behind Maryland at 9-3. Iowa, at 10-2, is the closest team to the Terrapins, but they have a tough matchup this week too in Lincoln on Thursday night. Iowa must win that tough contest if they hope to take advantage of any slipups Maryland may have between now and the end of the regular season.
