12/28 Men's Basketball Bracketology Breakdown

Stanford Men's College Basketball

Last Eight In: Stanford, UNLV, Pittsburgh, SMU, St. John’s, Colorado State, Alabama, California

First Eight Out: Baylor, Rhode Island, Texas A&M, Seton Hall, Michigan, Colorado, North Carolina State, Syracuse

It was a quiet week in basketball, but a couple teams made a big splash over the holidays. UNLV finally beat a Pac-12 team and it was one of the good ones. The Rebels knocked off Arizona 71-67 and catapulted themselves back into our bracket after a brief one week absence. Also back in after a week on the sidelines is Stanford. The Cardinal, one of those Pac-12 teams that beat UNLV earlier in the season, won a thrilling overtime contest at Texas. The jury is certainly still out on Stanford, but they desperately needed a statement, resume building win and they got it in Texas.
